The home buying process can lead to many questions. Here is a list of some of the common questions our customers have. If you have additional questions, please give us a call. We are happy to answer. Q: Why should I get a home inspection? A: The purchase of a home is the largest single investment you will ever make. You should learn as much as you can about the condition of the property and the need for any major repairs before you buy. Q: Can I do it myself? A: A professional home inspector has the knowledge and is familiar with the many elements of home construction, their proper installation, and maintenance. It is also a important to obtain an impartial third-party opinion by an expert. Q: When should I call in the home inspector? A: Typically a Home Inspector is contacted right after the contract or purchase agreement has been signed. And should be available within a few days. Q: Do I have to attend the inspection? A: It is not necessary, however it is recommended. This will be your opportunity to observe the inspector, ask questions and learn about the condition of your home and it’s systems. Q: What should I bring to the inspection? A: We do require payment upon completion of the inspection. Be prepared, have any questions or concerns written down. You can bring a pad and pen if you like, however the report will have detailed explanations of the condition of the home. Q: What will it cost? A: Prices will vary depending on the size and age of the home. The knowledge gained from an inspection is well worth the cost, and the lowest-priced inspector is not necessarily a bargain. Qualifications and experience should be your most important consideration. Q: How long will the inspection take? A: A typical home inspection can be completed in about two hours. |
